F.A.Q.

Q. How hard should I press on the scalp when I brush?
A. Moderately. Pressing very hard can strip the hair cuticles and damage hair.

Q. Should I brush with or against the grain of the hair?
A. It doesn't matter. As long as you are penetrating the hair and brushing down to the scalp, any direction will do the job. I have long hair and brush back from the face to the crown. I also make parts in the crown area and brush down or back from there. Occasionally, I will flip my head upside down to give the nape some attention. If you have short hair (or no hair), it's even possible to use a back and forth motion.

Q. I have curly hair, fragile hair, etc... so brushing is not for me. What can I do?
A. Head scritching with a scalp stimulating horn comb AND scalp massage are some other options to give your scalp its much needed stimulation. http://www.boloji.com/ayurveda/av030.htm
